The Poulton Room

Our charming first floor function room is an ideal venue for private meetings, celebrations and get-togethers. The room can be set to suit both formal and informal occasions. The seating capacity depends on the configuration of the 6 tables and there is space for 24 people to sit comfortably.

Room style

The room will suit almost any occasion being large, elegant and semi-formal in style.

At one end is the beautifully restored original fireplace, on the opposite wall is an extra large, wall mounted TV screen.

The room is naturally lit by three deep sash windows that sit in their original side panels. Overhead, three large, centrally aligned glass chandeliers supplement and light the room.

The room is decorated in slate blue over wall paneling and subtly patterned wallpaper.

Seating arrangements

Seating arrangements are flexible and are based on the arrangement of solid oak tables that can be extended to increase table size from 4 to 6 people. While the room is wide and long, ample access space needs preserving and some arrangements will reduce the seating capacity. Suggestions include individual 6 tables of 4, grouped tables, banqueting or buffet style and presentation style arrangements.

Please note, access to the room is only via stairs.

Room Hire

Many of our private dining and business packages have room hire included. Room hire package prices depend on group size, duration, season, facilities and services required. Please call 01524 415239 to discuss your requirements.


As standard, our kitchen provides food and refreshments based on one of our Main or Buffet menus (see below). Prior planning allows you to discuss your requirements with our Chef who will be creating your bespoke perfect menu. 

Specific catering awareness includes religious menus or allergy sufferer requirements such as nut, tomato, milk; and also for people who require specific vegetarian or vegan options.

Family Functions

Private dining is available for families special occasions and group events such as birthday parties, private dinner parties, wedding functions and christening do's. More.

Business Meetings

We can fully equip the room as a conference room for business meetings, presentations and events. Tables can be arranged in conference layout, to suit project work, training events and board meetings. Ample local parking is available. Mor​e.
